BIRKENHEAD ASSESSMENT COURT.
The Assessment Court for tho Birkenhead Borough wan hold in tho Zion Hill schoolroom on Saturday, beforo Mr. T. Hutchison, S.M. Mr. B. Cuttlcr, tho borough valuer, was present to support tho valuations. The town clerk (Mr. George Johnstone) having resigned his position, was not present. lho following objections were considered :~W. Chaytor, valuation £12, no appearance valuation sustained; G. Wilson, valuation £60, reduced to £45; A. F. Porter, valuation £20, reduced to £17; T. Buddie, no appearance, valuation sustained; .lames Hiscock, valuation £16, reduced to £8; James Harris, vaution £22, reduced to £17; Joshua Hadfield, valuation £14, reduced to £12; E. 8011, valuation £50, no appearance, sustained; Robert Thompson, valuation £16, no appearance, sustained; J. Taylor, valuation £8, reduced to £5 H. Jones, valuation £25, reduced to £22 by consent; Henry Day, valuation £20, reduced to £18; B. T. Hawkins, valuation £38, reduced to £36 by consent.
