The second half-yearly meeting of shareholders of tho Hampden Copper Mines, no liability, Oloncurry. Queensland, was held at tho company's office, Melbourne, on April JU. It was the intention of the directors to vigorously continue the extraction of ore during the ensuing halfyear. It was anticipated that during the onsuing six months, the necessary powers will be granted by the Queensland Parliament for the construction of a line from Normanton to the Cloncurry district, and tho question of the erection ol smelters on tho mine, , or at tho seaboard, would then bo dealt with.
