ARMY COMMISSIONS.

Out of the 30 Imperial army commissions offered to Victoria, it has been decided to reserve 10 lor those serving in South Africa. The rest will be allotted in the colony.
AUSTRALIAN FEDERATION.
Melbourne, May 7.
Immediately the Federal Bill is passed by the Imperial Parliament the Victorian Parliament will be called together to arrange for the elections. Brisbane, May 7. The Chamber of Commerce has cabled to Mr. Chamberlain expressing a desire to retain the appeal to the Privy Council, subject to the amended tribunal. NEW ZEALAND SWINE. Hoiiart, May 7. The importation of swine from New Zealand has been prohibited for 12 months.
