London, May 4. Mr. Chamberlain received the delegates on Tuesday for the purpose of announcing the decision of the Government regarding the Commonwealth Bill. Biusiuve, May 5. The Premier, speaking at a banquet, said he hoped the right of appeal to the Privy Council would be retained. He believed the people of Queensland wero strongly of the same opinion. Perth, May 5. Messrs. Leake and IHingsfforth, leaders respectively of the Federal League and Opposition, are highly pleased with the, proposed submission of the Commonwealth Bill to the people. They consider this a great victory. It is believed the proposal will be carried by Parliament and the referendum. BiusnANE, May 6.
Tho Committee of the Queensland AntiConvention Bill League has cabled to Mr. Chamberlain as follows:"The Commonwealth Bill was defeated in Southern and Central Queensland, which .represents 83 per cent, of the entire white population of tho colony. Wo claim tho right of appeal to the Privy Council, and demand that the clauses securing to Australia the control of the Customs for five years shall not apply to Queensland.
