BASTEN.-On December 10, Walter Edward Basten, after a short illness. At rest. Interment private. PHILIP.—On December 10, 1899, at her daughter's Mrs. Johnston) residence, Devonport, Sarah V. Philip, the beloved mother of Thomas J., Andrew V., and William 11. Philip, of this city, aged 78. The funeral will leave the Victoria Wharf, Devonport. at 1.30 p.m., and the Aneklan 1 Wharf at 2 p.m., for Purewa, to-day (Tuesday).
