PARLIAMENTARY NEWS.
[bt telegraph.—special correspondent.] Wellington, Monday. ILLNESS OF THE HON. CAPTAIN
RUSSELL.
Captain Russell is absent from the House to-day. He is suffering from an acute attack of laryngitis. For some time past tlio Leader of the Opposition has been, fering from throat trouble, but stuck to his work in the House. The strain of addressing the crowd in the open air at the departure of the New Zealand contingent on Saturday, however, increased the trouble, and Captain Russell had to seek the advice of a medical man, who told him he should have laid up some days ago.
