Mr. F R. Cana, who has been contribute i , ing a series of articles to the St. James' Budget on "Boers and Uitlanders," writes in that paper as follows:—The troops in Natal include the following : The 2nd Battalion Royal Dublin Fusiliers, 1200 men; ■ Ist King's Royal Rifles, 1000; Ist Leices-' tershire Regiment, 1000: 'sth (Royal Irish) Lancers, 900; 18th Hussars, 600; ; Royal Artillery, 10th Mountain Battery, 13th. 67th, and 69th batteries Field Atillery, "which together number about ,700 men. (. There is ; r also', a company of field engineers. / The troops are quartered at Newcastle, Dundee,- 1 ' Fort Napier, Maritzburg, Nottingham Road, Mooi River, Ladysmith, and Eshowe.
