The Gaiety Ministrel and Specialty Company completed their twenty-ninth wee a the City Hall, on Saturday, a record in the "show" business in Auckland, of which the management have just reason to feel prou . By the careful selection of artists of high standing in the variety business, and tie•quent changes in the personnel of pany, the inflow of amusement-see "c has continued unabated, and judging 3 sustained public interest, it seems l'» e J _ ' the City Hall will become to Aucklandeis what Mr. Harry Rickards theatres aie to our Australian cousins, the permanent lemdezous of amusement-seekers. On bay ■ > y the well-attended matinee ot the afternoon was followed with a crowded audience in the evening, when the popular musical team, ■ the Leslie Bros., D. H. Caston, Collins and Browne, and the sisters Andrews, made their total appearance prior to their ae P*'" ture on a tour of the goldfields and coas centres of the North Island, and were accorded a hearty send-off. Items weie aso contributed by the acrobatic team, J.'ran Ravston and Marie Rayford—they presenting the clever and highly amusing sketch en titled "Tramps' Visit to a Restaurant, tor the first time in Auckland—Mr. J. E. Sliep- , herd and Miss Miriam Lewis, Miss ltta Thomas, and other members of the company, providing a most enjoyf able and diversified programme cons' eluding with the mirth-provoking farce, ;• "A Game of Cards." A complete change I of programme is announced for this evening, ■ with the new first part Palace of Gaiety, and no less than six new artists from Aus- ,! tralia Will make their first bow to an AuckJ land audience.
