Mr. George Fraser, engineer for the Waitekauri Gold Mining Company, was publicly fa revelled by his friends at Waitekauri on ! Wednesday night. Mr. Fraser was a great favourite, ' and his departure for Auckland is much regretted, and he carries with him j the best wishes of a large circle of acquaint-! antes. _ i A very prettily-arranged wedding of in- j terest to a large circle of friends took place [ at the handsome residence of the bride-1 groom's brother, Mr. Robert Scott, of Hob- j souville. The Rev. Mr. McLean officiated. I The contracting couple were Miss Isabella j Gunn. third daughter of the late Mr. Robert | Gunn, of Auckland, and Mr. James Scott, . of Hobsonville. The bride, who was given j away by her brother, looked very winsome' in cremc brides Moth dress, finished with ! silk lace and watered ribbons, coronet of i orange blossoms, shower bouquet, and a hand- , someiy worked veil, completed a very dainty j toilet. The bridesmaids were the Misses j Grace and Lizzie Scott, and looked nice in hail-shower muslins and wild clematis. Mr. Harry Gunn, of Auckland, acted as best man. After the ceremony the "Wedding March" was played by Miss M. Kemp, and the guests were entertained at a sumptuous wedding breakfast, when the usual toasts ! were proposed and responded to. Mr. and Mrs. Scott left for their home amidst warm congratulations and good wishes for future happiness. A very pretty wedding, which caused quite a slii in Parnell yesterday afternoon, took place at St. Mary's Cathedral, when Mr. W. Norman Heather, fourth son of Mr. Arthur Heather, was married to Miss Myrtle Cliatfield. daughter of Mr. A. W. Chatiield. Both bride and bridegroom are well known, and in addition to the snests (of whom there were a large number), the church was filled with spectators. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Geo. Mac Murray. The bride was charmingly attired in a beautiful white satin dress trimmed with chiffon. She was given away by her father, and was attended by three bridesmaids. Miss Mabel | Coates, Miss Beatrice Heather, and Miss | Myra Reed, who were daintily dressed in I white silk. Mr. J. Vincent Heather acted ! as best man. and Messrs. Claude Heather j and Hnlbrnok Chatfield as groomsmen. Friends of'the bride had decorated the chancel very beautifully with a profusion of arum lilies, large white daisies, and white azaleas, and altogether the wedding was one of the prettiest that have taken place in the Cathedral. One of the most noticeable 1 features of the decorations was a large floral bell hanging over the chancel rails. After : the ceremony the guests adjourned to the residence of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Cliatfield. where they were entertained, and viewed 1 the handsome presents, of which there were over a hundred. i
