THE PANTOMIME SEASON.
On Friday next the Pollard's will renew acquaintance with a local audience, when they will produce for the first time here, an entirely new version of the favourite, pantomime story " Ali Baba, and tho Forty Thieves." This gorgeous spectacle was the Christmas attraction at He* Majesty's Theatre, Sydney, last year, where it formed the seventeenth annual pantomime produc tion by "Tho Firm," ana as the critics were unanimous in stating that it excelled all previous efforts, then some idea as to its magnificence may be formed/ To make the production as perfect as in the Australian cities, Mr. Pollard has combined forces with the Williamson' and Musgrave Pantomime ■ and Comedy Company, which • numbers 24 people. These include Mr.- Albert Wlielan, the famous eccentric comedian; Miss Tilly Woodlock, a charming soubrette and dancer; Mr. William Hassan, the celebrated animal impersonator; and 16 of "The Firm's" ballerinas. The combination numbers exactly 100, and is the most expensive theatrical enterprise that has ever been brought to New Zealand. The piece will he staged with all the original scenery, wardrobe, arid effects, as used in tho Australian productions. The box-plan \ will be opened _ at Wildman and Lyell's on Monday morning.
