READING FOR THE TROOPS IN. SOUTH AFRICA.
Sir,— suggestion of youi correspondent, Mr. A. G. Hill, of Harrisville, in your issuo of yesterday re above, seems to us most opportune, and his offer to forward two years of the "Windsor Magazine should bo accepted, and would no doubt be moat gratefully and thankfully received by our New Zealand Contingent. As our mite towards the furtherance of the proposal, we shall be most pleased to act for any desirous of forwarding literature for the contingent, and are prepared to pack in cases, free of cost, and ship any books, periodicals, magazines, etc., that may be left at our mart for the purpose. Should this meet with .public favour, action should be immediate, as the Waiwcra is likely to sail from one of our Southern ports on the 26th inst. All books, etc., should be left with us prior to the 20th. The Union S.S. Co. inform ua that they will gladly take tho cases free of charge,— are, etc., !Wabiien Both and Co., .
