NEW ZEALAND TALISMAN G.M. CO.

MR. A. H. CURTIS REAPPOINTED ATTORNEY. Mr. A. H. Curtis, who was until recently associated with the general management of the New Zealand Talisman mine, at Karangahake, yesterday received an important cablegram from London. The cable was to the effect that Mr. Curtis is to take over the general management of the mine and company at once, and that full power of attorney would be forwarded per first mail. The explanation of the cablegram is that Mr. Curtis takes the position as partner in the firm of Bewick Morcing and Co., and occupies that position until September, 1900. Mr. Curtis will still hold power of attorney on behalf of the London and New Zealand Exploration Company and Whangamata Gold Corporation, and will also act as general manager of the companies mentioned and the New Zealand Talisman. As Mr. Curtis was associated with the Talisman long before tlio battery was erected, and lias devoted close attention to the development of the property and the interests of shareholders, New Zealand shareholders in the Talisman Company should cordially approve of the reappointment of Mr. Curtis to a position which he has occupied with such conspicuous success.
