MATCH AGAINST MIDDLESEX.

AN EASY WIN. By Telegraph.—Association— London, August 22. Brilliant weather prevailed when (ho game was resumed to-day, and the attendanco was again large. Tho wicket was fast.

Tlio Australians' innings realised 415 runs, both Ireclale and Darling passing the century. Darling was four hours and a-half at the wickets, and never gave a chance; lie hit 18 fourß. Irodale's innings took an hour less, and included 17 fours. Iredale gave a chance when he had' made only 17.

Middlesox commenced their first Innings shortly before lunch, and at the adjournment had one wicket down for 12.

After lunch tho wickets fell very cheaply; tho second at 51, and the seventh at 91, ".MeLeod getting nearly nil the wickets. The innings closed for 105, Middlesex had to follow on, and were dismissed in tho second attempt for 110. . The Australians ihus won the match by an innings and 230 runs. The scores follow: —
