AUCKLAND SHAREMARKET. The market yesterday showed no material change. In standards, Taupiri Coals were placed at 20s 6d. Leyland and O'Brien's firmed, buyers offering 245, with no response from sellers. In mining there were exchanges of Bunker's Hill (old issue) at 2s 4d. and of Moanataiaris (which showed a decline), at Is. May Queens were in demand at 6s Id, sellers holding for 6s 9d. Kauri Freeholds were in firm demand at 15s, but no sellers were quoted at less than 20s. Alphas showed a marked decline, buyers declining to offer more than Is, sellers holding for Is 9d. Grace Darlings (paid up) were a shade easier, buyers offering Is lid, sellers 2s Id. Talismans were in firm demand at 133 6d and 13s 4d, Four-in-Hands 2s 6d. Mount Lyells (Tasmania) were again in request at £11, sellers declining to quote in response. Low-priced lines were wanted at late rates.

WAITEKAURI G.M. CO. 1997 TONS YIELD £5811. TOTAL TO DATE, £196,927. During the four weeks ended August 12, the Waitekauri Gold Mining Company crushed and treated 1997 tons, which yielded bullion of the value of £5811. In the previous return, which was for a period of 39 working days, the company crushed and treated 3237 tons for a return valued at £9263. This brings the total output from the Waitekauri mine up to £196,927.
