POLICE COURT NEWS. Hw Wobship MB. H. W. Brabant, S.M., presided at the Auckland Police Court on Saturday morning. OBSCENE LANGUAGE. Flora Ann Nicholson, a woman with a bad record, was sent to gaol for a month for using obscene language ill Queen-street. DRUNKENNESS. Maud Hartnell, a young woman, was convicted of drunkenness for the fourth time within six months, and sentenced to seven days' hard labour. Ann Tilsley was convicted on a similar charge, a fine of 10s, in default 48 hours' imprisonment, being imposed. Mary Whittingham was ordered to pay a fine of ss, with the usual alternative, for being found drunk in a public place, while two first offenders were dealt with, one (on bail) who did not appear being fined ss, and tho other discharged with a caution. REMANDED.
Joseph Winters, charged with disorderly conduct while drunk, assaulting Constable Fraser, and using obscene language, was remanded till August 2, oil the application of Dr. Laishiey, who appeared lor the defence. Bail was allowed, accused in £10, and one surety of £10. Wilfred Wilson, on a charge of stealing a liat,_ valued at 26 bd, the property of Stephen U'S'eil, was alsr remanded till Wednesday, Chief-Detective Grace remarking that there were furtliei charges pending against the accused.
A youth named Henry Wilis was remanded till this morning, the charge preferred against him being that he did steal a quantity of clothing, worth £2 10s, the properly of Richard Porter, at Tuakau.
