[FEOM OTO OWN COBBESPONDENTS.] Cambridge Friday. THE members of tho Cambridge Company, Waikato Mounted Rifles, entertained their late captain, Mr. N. I, Hunt, at a smoke concert, at the Criterion Hotel, on Wednesday night. There was a good attendance, and the proceedings were very harmonious throughout. It is the intention of the company to present Mr. Hunt with a permanent memorial of theic esteem. Many readers, not only in Waikato, but in Auckland, will learn with deep regret the news of the death of Mrs. Frank Gane. The deceased lady, who was only 29, was the eldest daughter of Mr. Geo. E. Clark, of tliia town, and one of the oldest and most respected settlers in Waikato. Mrs. Gane was only ill for a short period, and on Wednesday, hopes were entertained of her speedy recovery. She leaves two little girls, the youngest barely a year old. Heartfelt sympathy is expressed for tho bereaved husband ana family, Hamilton', Friday, The usual fortnightly meeting of tho W.C.T.U. was held last evening in the Volunteer Hall. P was decided to make a house to house visitation for the purpose of distributing printed matter bearing on temperance. A very pretty wedding took place in St. Mary's Church, Hamilton, on June 27. The contracting parties were Miss Annie C. Delaney, third daughter of Mr. -Patrick' Delaney, of Rosa Dale. Newstead, and Daniel Edmund Barry, second bob of Mr. .G. , Barry, of Tamaki West. Tho bride, who 1 was; given away'by her father, was - attired : in d grey ' costume, and wore the customary veil and • wreath of orange-blossoms. The bride - was attended by two bridesmaids-Miss Lizzie Delaney, sister of the bride, , and Miss •• Nellie Barry, sistei of the bridegroom. .Mr. Patrick Barry, of Auckland, acted as groomsman.After the ceremony, the party, to the num- . tor of 60, adjourned to the residence of the . bride s parents, where a sumptuous- afternoon . tea was served.; .
