GIRL'S LOVE TRAGEDY.
DESPAIRING LEAP INTO THE RIVER AT WESTMINSTER. At the Limeliouse Coroner's Court, Dr. E. K Houclun conducted an inquiry into the death of Olive Fox, 22, residing at 20, Westminster Bridge Road, who committed suicide by jumping off Westminster Bridge on Saturday, March 11. Mrs. Gertrude Grundy, of 26, Newnhamstreet, said she was with the deceased on the morning in question. After gome to various places they walked into Whitehall. Deceased had just before met a young man named Myers, with whom she was keeping company. The pail were some way ahead, going towards Westminster Bridge when suddenly deceased came running back, with the words, "Gerty, my Sammy has done with me." Witness tried to assure deceased it would be all right, and sent another young man to look for Myers. She then turned to tell deceased that Sammy would come back, but saw she had run on to the bridge. Witness rushed forward and managed to catch hold of her skirl just she was falling into the " v -, The weight of the body, however, pulled the skirt from her grasp, and deceased fell into the watei. Two minutes later the boats were out, but failed to find her. Witness had once before heard deceased say that if she could not get her " Sammy" she would do away with her
Samuel James Myers, a cab-driver of Newington Crescent. Kennington Road, said he kept company with the deceased for some months. On the Saturday in question he met her by Charing Cross station, and walked with her towards Westminster Bridge.
