AUCKLAND WEEKLY NEWS.
SPLENDID MAIL NUMBER. This week's issue of the Auckland Weekly jjf.ffS is in every respect a capital one, as the illustrations have been specially selected with a view to make the number a most useful one for posting abroad by the outgoing 'priscc mail on Monday next. The most attractive feature is an article from the pen of" A. Tramp, Esq," illustrated with a number of choice views, specially taken for the News. Among these " The Camp of New Zealand Bushfellers at Waituna," and the "Bullock Team making way for the Premier,'' may be singled out as pictures of unusual excellence, whilst at the same time they depict two most interesting phases of colonial life. Another most interesting illustration is a view of Home Point, near Whangaruru, a spot at which several whales were caught last year by means of a patent net. The Governor's visit to Rarotonga, the Thames Chrysanthemum Show, and the Thames Hospital Sports at Te Aroha, are all illustrated with fine views. An interesting curiosity of nature is shown in the shape of a three-headed nikau palm. The whole number will be found a most interesting and varied one, whilst the quality of the illustrations is superior to anything yet produced in this colony. The News is now on sale, and may be obtained of all runners and news agents.
