Ward became Postmaster-General, and through bis official knowledge admitted his previous mistake, who again saved the San Francisco service for Auckland? There IS only one answer, viz., the united vote of the Auckland members. At a later period Mr. C. E. Button championed the cause, "ho then saved the San Franoisco service for Auckland?
