AUCKLAND EXHIBITION.
The Auckland Exhibition had a successful day yesterday, the favourable weather and the attractions of the afternoon and evening drawing a larger number of visitors than has been seen in the Exhibition foi some time. In the afternoon there was a large crowd of children in the Exhibition, and Mr. A. liushbv had an appreciative audience at his Punch and Judy show. The attraction of the evening was the promenade concert on the lawn in front of the Inhibition Buildings. The Exhibition staff had a busy day preparing for the concert, and at night the gardens were beautifully lighted. Fairy lamps were hung over the lawn, and the trees were lighted up with brightly-coloured Chinese lanterns. Seats were provided round the lawn, and everything arranged so that visitors could enjoy the novelty of the evening's entertainment. A large crowd assembled and the sight was altogether a pretty one. The Harrison Band provided the following programme: — March, "The Triumph'' (Harrison) ; value, "llenevieve" (Paul); selection. " (Jems of Erin " (Roundl; mazurka, "Friendship's Greeting" (Albert); lancers, "Pomona" (Fare) ; selection, "Bohemian f'irl " (Balfe) ; valse, "Nacht mid Morgen" (Keller) ; Romanesque, " Roman Dance." (Boggetti) ; march, "Marseillaise'' (Thiere) : "(!od Save Ihe Queen.''
"ELIJAH."
A large audience is expected at the performance of " Elijah " to-night by the Inhibition choir, under Professor Carl Scliniitt. The choir have been carefully trained, and special interest attaches to the appearance of Mr. Prouse. who is always heard at his best in the baritone solos of " Elijah." The other soloists are : Miss Lorrigan, Mrs. Arclidale Tayler. Madame Du Kiett, Miss Laing, and Mr. John W. Hill.
