The fine new block of the New Zealand Shipping Company's offices are almost completed, with the exception of the exterior plastering, and the verandahs. The latter work is delayed owing to the City Council not having settled the formation of the street at that corner, and executed the kerbing. Another block approaching completion is the Northern Steamship Company's handsome new offices. _ A considerable amount of building is going on. The Premier Joinery Company is erecting new premises in the vicinity of the Waitemata Company sawmills, a store and residence has just been completed in Cook-street West, a couple of two-storeyed houses are in process of erection In Cook-street, and two very handsome two-storeyed villa residences have just been erected, one near the site of the new police barracks, and the other in By-monds-street.
