——* WHEN the Amateur Opora Olub decided some months ago to stage Planquette's popular opera, "Los Cloches," it was considered in many quarters to be a mistake. To give anything like a faithful presentation would be'difflcult, if the same standard as tho club established in their last two productions was to be maintained. However, all obstaolcß seem to have been overcome, and there is little room for doubt that the ladies and gentlemen entrusted with the principal parts will give an excellent interpretation thereof, Then the opera gives a splendid opportunity for lavish mounting. At considerable cost, the committee havo had executed a, most beautiful sat of scenery, the artist being Herr Vennermarki In the concerted music there is every reason to believe that tho effect will be most gratifying. Specially arranged dances have been introduced, thus adding additional interest to the production, The season commences next Wednesday, at the Opera Houso. Already large numbers have booked their seats. Special attontion is directed to the "traffio" and "house' arrangements announced elsewhere. The proprietors of the Barony Studio have finished a fine large photo of Mr. George Warren, cast for the character of Gaspard, the miser, in tho coming Amateur Opera, The realism with whioh the ghoßt offect is produced will be duly appreciated by connoisseurs of the art,
