[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Invkrcargiix, Monday. The body of a newborn male child was found enclosed in a box, in a waterhole, alongside the Mataura River, about a mile north ol Gore, to-day. A long spell of fine, bright weather, with drying easterly winds, is helping the spring farm work forward. Duxedix, Monday. An eight-year-old daughter of John Mulvin, settler at Komabapa, was so badly burned through her clothes catching fire on Saturday that she died yesterday. F. Rogen, collie breeder, has received intimation from his partner that their dogs won the team prize, and every first, except the championship, at the Victorian Keniftl Club show. Wellington, Monday. Edward Tucker, while unloading coal from a hulk into the steamer Hawea this morning, fell down the hold, 30ft. He died in the hospital from a fractured skull and other injuries. Deceased was a married man with a family. Napier, Monday; Anna Maria Smith, licensee of the Exv change Hotel, was to-day fined £3 . and costs for supplying an intoxicated person. The license was also ordered to be endorsed.
