Holdsworth, late Commissioner of Crown Lands, He commenced office life in the service of the late Captain Williams in connection with the steam coastal business conducted by that gentleman, and was for some years manage! in Westport for Captain Williams, and subsequently for the Union Company. In 1891 the company recognised Mr. Holdsworth's services and ability by appointing him its chief manager in Tasmania. During the . past six years he lias held that position with credit to himself and advantage to his employers, and his latest promotion is a fitting recognition of his services.
