[BY TEI,!!GRArn.-OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Thames, Wednesday. Steps are being taken here for the holding of a chrysanthemum show on the 2Sth and 29th of April next. The proposal has been exceedingly well received, and the exhibits promise to be numerous, and the competition keen in the various classes, At the Police Court to-day two lads, named William and .Thomas Fisher, wore charged with the theft of goods to the value of £1, the property of Robert Gibbons, from the shed on the Eopu Wharf, on the sth instant. After the hearing of evidence, the Bench (Messrs. H. C. Gillespie and James Renshnw, J.P.'s) stated they were satisfied that both tho boys were on the wharf at the time stated, but there was no direct evidence beforo them, although there was strong suspicion that tho accused had tampered with the case containing tho goods which they wore charged with stealing, consequently they would give the accused tho benofio of the doubt and dismiss the charge.
