MISS BAKER'S CASE.

A? the meeting of the Women's Christian Temperance Union, held in the Y.M.C.A, liooras yesterday afternoon, the following resolution was carried unanimously :— "This meeting deeply sympathises with Miss Ethel i\l. T. Baker at the result of the' late action and the uncalled-for remarks by Judge Conolly a to the veracity of her evidence. It also expresses its appreciation of her self-sacrificing and Christian conduct in the cause of Buttering humanity." As will be seen from advertisement, the General Committee appointed at the last meeting for promoting the public expression of sympathy with Miss Ethol Baker, fill meet at four o'clock this afternoon at the social room of the Y.M.C.A, Buildings [or the purpose of considering and adopting the address, and receiving recommendation? of the sub-committee as to the best means of expressing in more practical form the feelings of tho public in regard to the treatment; received by that lady. A full attendance of members is requested, as well M of other sympathisers. "A Visitor to Rotorua" writes;-"I enclose you £5 towards a subscription to Miss Ethel Baker.
