Mr, George Crawley, the purser, reports that the steamer left Bunedin at 4.30 p.m. on the 22nd instant, and called at Lytlelton, Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne, leaving the latter port at 10 a.m. on the 26th, and arrived as above. ) Fine weather was experienced along the coast to arrival, The Waihora leaves for Sydney at 5.30 p.m. to-day.

THE MARAROA.— FAST TRIP. The Union Company's steamer Mararoa arrived frctn Sydney last evening after a fast passage across. The steamer comes over this time under the command of Captain W. J. Newton. Captain E. Phillips having had to remain behind in Sydney to undergo an operation for an affection of the throat. Mr. A. C. Walker, the purser, to whom we are indebted for our files, reports:— Mararoa left the Union Company's Margaret-street Wharf, Sydney, at 4.30 p.m., and cleared Port Jackson Heads at 5 p.m. on the 23rd instant; passed Cape Maria Van Diemen at 2.35 a.m. yesterday, berthing at the Quaystreet Jetty at 6 p.m. Strong easterly winds and head seas were experienced throughout the passage. The Mararoa leaves for East Coast and Southern ports at 2 p.m, tomorrow. THE HAWKE'S BAY. The Union Co. steamer Rotorua, Captain Grant, arrived at 10.30 a.m. on Saturday from Southern ports. She left Wellington on the 24th, called at New Plymouth, and leaving the latter port at 10.20 p.m. on the 25th, arrived as above. The Northern Company's steamer Gairloch arrived at 11.20 a.m. on Saturday from New Plymouth with passengers and general cargo.
