The occasion was marked by a great naval demonstration. Berlin, December 17. At the banquet at Kiel to Prince Henry, the Emperor directed him to make it clear to every foreigner that the German St. Miohael had planted the" Imperial Eagle upon Chinese soil to protect German commerce and missionary work.
