The survivors of the crew of the Sydney owned schooner Magic arrived by the steamer Oralau, The Magic was drives ashore and completely wrecked in a hurricane at) fiiuafooa Island, Tonga, on May, 13th. Captain George Lawson and cook Wilson were drowned. Three survivors were washed on to the rocks much bruised and exhausted. They had to climb fifty feet of a perpendicular cliff to escape the sea.
