AGRICULTURAL SHOW AT CHRISTCHURCH.
(IT TILIOBAFH.— »BKSB ASSOCIATION. I CimisTOHDROH, Thursday. The Agricultural and Pastoral Anociation'e winter ehotv was opined in Tattereall's and Matson'e wool store to-day, The entries were 27 more than at last show, The fat cattle and sheep were extremely fine. In dairy produce there was ketner competition and better quality than last year. Hams and baoon were not so numerous, bub very fine. Grain, seedi, and rooti were alia good, and the fruit was admirable. The following an the principal prizes: — Two cheefles, not less than eOlba, full cream, New Zealand Ched-dar-shaped suitable for export (coloured), Waikouaiti Dairy Faotory Company, 1; Stirling Dairy Factory, 2; Wyndham Dairy Factory Company, commended. Two factory-made cheese suitable for expprt (white): Stirling Dairy Factory, 1; New Zealand and Australian Land Company, 2. Two factory-made oheese made prior to November 1, 1896: Wyndham Dairy Factory Company, 1; Stirling Dairy Factory, 2. Ten pounds fresh butter (separator); Taitapu Dairy Factory, 1; F. McGowan, 2; Canterbury Central Dairy Factory, highly commended, Butter for export: Tai&apu Dairy Factory, highly commended ; Wyndham Dairy Factory Company, 1 and 2. Ten pounds salt butter (separator) in jar; Sefton Hairy Factory, 1; Canterbury Central Dairy Factory, 2, The exhibitors in the other daises were mostly local. A very fine collection of apples was shown by Adams, Oreendale. A. E. Button took the speei»l prizej for the best pair of fat bullocks and far the. best) fat bullock in the yard. S. Garforth took the special prize for the best pen of freezing wethers.
