TYPHOID GERMS.

TO THE EDITOR. SiR,-In confirmation of the statement by t»r. Baldwin that the fever wards are saturated with typhoid germs, I may mention that the hospitals at Scutari were all in this condition during their occupation by onr army The hospital to which I was attached always contained hundreds of fever cases, mostly contracted after the patient's arrival at Scutari. Of one of the wards given over to me, the divisional surgeon said, " try what you can do to get rid of typhoid in this ward; tor months every patient who comes into it, and lives long enough, gets typhoid." Bat nothing did any good, and at length the ward had to be shut up. The best way ta build fever wards is to build them in the roughest way of weatherboards, and burn them down every two or three years.—l am, etc., Medicos. April 28.
