A nautilus shell, said by Captain Fairchild to be the second best he has ever seen, wae picked up on the beach at Palliaer Bay close to the wreckage from the Zuleika. Captain Fairchild states that he has never before hurd of the discovery of a nautilus shell in Cook Strait.
