THE ZULEIKA CASUALTY.
NAUTICAL INQUIRY, [nif IBLEORAPH.— PRESS ASSOOrATION.] Wellington, Wednesday, A nautical inquiry into the wreck of the ship Zuleika, aoinmenced this morning, Cnptain Bremner, Lanei seootid officer, end Billett, an apprentice, and Lyson, an able seaman, were examined. The evidence was similar to the particulars published et> the time of the Wreck. The Court found tliab the caenalty Was the result of the vessel making more leeway than the oaptaih calculated, and to the surfacoset to the north and north-wwt. The Court considered the captain did all in his power for the veesel during the gale and for tbe preservation of life at the time of the wreck, and saw no reason why his certificate should not be returned. No order was made for costs. Mr. Kenny, 3.M., expressed the opinion that it Iβ advisable for masters wild Aft strangers to the New Zealand coast to avail themselves of tht services of liwnwd coastal pilots.
