BANKRUPTCY.

A meeting of creditors in the estate of H. A. Hoffman, bankrupt, was held yesterday afternoon at the Official Assignee's office, Customs-street, to consider whether the claim of the Roseberry Coal Company should be admitted. The Official Assignee explained that if the claim were admitted, the amount received from Mr. Hanna, hankrupt's solicitor, would pay a dividend of about 49 4d, instead of 59, as was originally agreed upon. On the motion of Mr. C. E. Abbott, seconded by Mr. Smith, it was agreed, "That the claim of the Roseberry Coal Company (present and contingent liabilities), be admitted, that the creditors accept the reduced composition, and that the bankrupt's discharge be facilitated by the Official Assignee in every way. Henry Foisy, in a sworn statement made yesterday before Mr. J. Lawsoo, Official Assignee, said he was a fruiterer, carrying on business at Coromandel. He started with j £40, and was free of debt.
