During the past week only one match of the club championship of the Auckland Oolf Club has been played. Mr. Gillies met Mr. Golbeck and defeated him by six up and live to play. Next Saturday Mr. Gilliee, meets Mr. Walker, and the winner of the match Flint against Turner plays Kyd. The final will be played.on May g On Thursday next, the ladies play for .the Countess of Glasgow's prize on the Gmu> lane links. A considerable number of young men ire enrolling in the Volunteer corpt. The drill I of the volunteers is being confined almost entirely to big gun drill in the batteries, owing to the unsettled state of affairs in Europe. Thiseveniug the Auckland Nival Artillery are to be practised in the duties of manning the forts.
