[FBOM ODB OWN OURBKSPONDENTS.] Hamilton, Monday. A good practice match was held on Saturday afternoon by the members of the Football Club. The annual meeting was held at the Royal Hotel, after the play, Mr. A. H. Atkinson in the chair. Mr. Chan. Speight was elected captain, and Mr. G. B. Beere deputy cnutain; Mr. A, Peacock,' hon. secretary and treasurer; president, Mr. Geo. Edgecumbe: vice-presidents, Mr. W, F. Lang. M.H.R., and Messrs. Barton, Slade, O'Neill, Dr. Brewis, Messrs. Atkinson, Gribble. Messrs. Peacock and Innes were elected delegates to the Union; Selection Committee, Messrs. Cave, Williamson, and W. Hammond. A practice match will be held on Sydney Square on Saturday next. Te Awahdtd, Monday. An unfortunate accident happened on Friday afternoon to Master Harold Vnusn, second son of the postmaster, Mr. J. P. Vause. The lad was dismounting from his pony when he slipped, and falling on his shoulder broke one of the small bones. Thu injuiry was attended to by Dr. Pairman, and the unfortunate young fellow is progressing favourably. Mr. W. J. Hunter held it most succestful sale here on Saturday. There was a large attendance of buyers, and produce of all kinds brought better prices than has been realised for some time.

At a meeting of the Library Committee the balance-sheet showed a credit of £5 odd. It was decided to continue the penny readings during the coming winter. The Rev. Mr. Mitchell, of Hamilton, has promised to deliver a lecture on behalf of the library funds.
