The Gisbome Chamber of Commerce and the Cook County Council have warmly taken up the matter of the proposed light line of railway irom this district to Rotorua. Resolutions Were passed urging oh the Government the necessity of giving effect to the scheme outlined in Mr. Carroll's memorandum to the Premier. A public meeting will be called, at which a Railway League will be formed thoroughly representative of all classes of the community, and on a strictly non-political basis.
