Mr. Peter Dignan, senior councillor of the City, was on Saturday nominated for the office of Mayor, rendered vacant by the retirement of Mr. A. Boardman. His nominators wero Messrs. John W. Howson mid Alfred Kidd. In addition to those already announced as candidates for the Mayoralty of Auckland, it is probable that the Hon. W. McCullough, M.L.0., will come out. Ho has been promised support by several citizens. Mr. McCullough was some! years back Mayor of the Thames.
