STRANGE SUICIDE.

YOUNG LADY'S PATHETIC LETTERS

TO HER FRIENDS. Mk. Braxton Hicks held an inquest at the Lambeth Coroner's Court on the body of Nellie Frear, aged 27, who was found in the Thames, near Lambeth Bridge, the other morning.

Evidence of identification was given by Mrs. Willis, of Raglan-street, Hamstead Road, who said the deceased hid lodged with her for some time. Up to Christmas she had been employed as a fur-sewer in Regent-street.

Miss Charlotte Goldio, a lady journalist, living at Brixton, had known the deceased about 12 months, and believed that she came from Newcastle. She was introduced to witness by a professor, who wished to help the girl into some situation. On the 10th inst. witness received the following letter from the deceased

' Dear Miss Goldie,— a few lines to say good-bye. I hope you won't feel a very great shock. lam going to that bourne from which no traveller returns. Believe me, it is better, for your little Nellie is too lonely and sick. Say good-bye to the Professor for me. I would like to write to him, but I feel it too much. If you would like to hare my photo, you may have the one framed and wrapped up in paper on the shelf. It is not like me now, but it is what I used to be before I went away. Your books are also here. Good-bye, dear friend, God bless you.-N*LUE.

Death was shown to be doe to drowning. All - efforts to trace the young woman's parents have proved futile. The jury returned a verdict of " Suicide while temporarily insane."
