EXPEDITIONS TO THE SOUTH SEA ISLANDS.

Reports reached San Francisco on March 31 that the brig Peroy Edwards having on board the company of emigrants called the United Brotherhood of the South Sea Islands, arrived off Honolulu, March 11. Captain Peterson and several of the company came on shore, and from them it was learned that discord had made its appearance. Reinhart, the promoter of the scheme, insisting that he ought to have more authority than Captain Peterson is willing to allow him. The majority of the company, however, side with the captain, having confidence in his capacity and judgment. Another expedition is about to sail from Victoria, 8.C., for that will-o-the-wisp. Cocoa, called the Treasure Island, lying, as is supposed, in the South Pacific. The parties undertake the enterprise on the faith of certain ■■ charts possessed by the widow of an old sea captain, Mrs. Trevan.
