Wellington, Friday. In the report submittal to the Harbout Board, Mr. Ferguson, the engineer, re ported against the idea of making a deck bigger than any in the colonies. He showed that the tendency was to reduce the length of steamers rather than to increase it, and said it would bo absurd to have to pump out a huge dock every time a moderatesized steamer wanted to use it, Mr. Fop guson considered the circumstances of tin colony do lint warrant the constructs of a third large dock at all, though a small dock is, in his opinion, desirable here.
