AUCKLAND. . MESSRS. ALFRED BUCKLAND AND SOXS REPORT. AT the Haymarket, oaten sheaves have brought 2s 6d the cwt; maize on wharf 2s 8d the bushel, in atore 23 10d ; oats, 2s 7d; cocksfoot, 7s 6d; Poverty Bay ryegrass, 5s 6d; Italian ryegrass, 4j 6d the bushel; guano, in increased demand, £3 103 ; bonedost, £5 Ss to £6 10j ; Dressed hay, £3 1%; chaff, £3 5i the ton. No horse sale held the past week. Hides in usual supply. Light weights were at lower values. Choice picked heavy kept their values. Ox hides ranged from 4d to 63d; cow hides, 3d to3|d; calfskins, 4d to 4Jd the lb; tallow, Us 9d to 12s 6d the cwt, sheepskins were better worth; batchers'skins were from 2a 3d to 3a 9d; dried pelts, 6d to 2s; lambskins, 2a Id to 2s 9d each. At the country cattle sales held respectively at Pokeno and Drury, less cattle were yarded than at last month's sales. Dairy cows were better worth, and brought from £3 15s to £6; calves at late values, prices ranged from 14s to £1 6s; grown cattle in slow enquiry; well-bred four-year-old steers were from £4 2s 6d to £417s 6d each. At Bemuera on Thursday dairy cows, in usual supply, were at late values, prices for those at profit were from £3 5s to £6 each. Store cattle of all classes, fairly represented, scarcely obtained late valuos. Young and fat calves, in unusual supply, sold freely throughout, about 100 sold. Fat cattle in average number, 210 sold, were slightly better worth, although previoun quotations will be given, 16s to 17s the 1001b for steers, 12s to 15s for cows. Steers were from £5 to £8 ss, cows, £3 10s to £6 12a 6d each. Sheep in full number, 1750 yarded, mostly well-fatted, fully kept last week's advance. Wethers weretrom 8s to Ha; ewes, 8s to 12s 9d each. Pins in full number, 119 sold. Growing pigs, porkers, and small bacon pigs were at late values. Heavy pigs lower than hitherto. Porkers were from 18a to 30a; heavy pigs up to 525; growing pigs, 12s to 19a each; turkeys, 3s 7d each.

MESSRS. HDNTEB AND /NOLAN'S WKEKLT REPORT. Horse-feed, grain, seed: There has been little doing in consequence of the holidays, and there h>B been no noteworthy change in value. We quote : Maize on wharf, 2s 8d bushel, ex store 3s: feed oats, 2s Bd, seed oats 2s IOd ; bran, £315s ton ; oaten chaff, £210 ato £2155; Poverty Bay rye-grass, 5s 6d to 6s; cocksfoot, Sβ 9d to 7s. Horses: There has been no auction sales. A very limited number changed hands privately, and there has been no indication of an advance in value. Wool, hides, skins, tallow, bones: The sales were held on Wednesday instead of Tuesday. Fair quantities were disposed of at the Durham Yards. We quote: l'rime ox hides, 6d to 7d lb, stout 4id to sg<i, steer 3Jd to 4d, cow 3d to 4d ; calfskins, 3id to 5d ; tallow, 14s 6d; bones, £3 ss; sheepskins, heavy, 3s to 4s 9d, light, Is 64 to 2s 6<l; wool, lower, fleece 4cl to sjd ; lambswool, 5d to 6d. Cattle: A steady demand has existed for all classes with a slightly depressing tendency in prices for young stores. At Waiuku on Saturday there was a good muster of cattle. Steady competition throughout the sale, and as a rule Newmarket rates were realised. The Newmarket sale was postponed until Wednesday on account of the holidays, and as no cattle train ran for the same reason the Waikato stockowners could not send, but a good many shipborne and local were yarded. We quote: Ox beef, 17s to 18s; cow beef, 15s to 17a; steers ranged from £5 to £8 153; cows, £4 to £5155; dairy cows, £315s to £7 15s j dry cows, £110s to £3. Sheep were penned in limited numbers at Newmarket on Wednesday, and were well competed for. Wethers at from 9s 9d to 13s 3d; ewes, 9s 9d to 11s 9d; mixed sexes, 7s 3d to 10s 6d; lambs, 7s 9d to 11s. Pigi scarce. NKW ZEALAND LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY COMPANY (LIMITED). Auckland Wool Storbs, April 22. Owing to the Easter holidays the hide and skin sales were held on Wednesday, 21st inst. Hides were in full supply, but did not meet with iuch keen demand, except for heavy stout. We quote: Prime stoat ox, 5Jd to 6|d; heavy stout ox, 4Jd to s}d; light and medium, 3Jd to 4jd; cow hides, 3iil to 3fd; kip, 2Jd to 3Jd; and calfskins, 3Jd to 5(1. Sheepskins: Prices about on a par with last week. Large spreading well saved pelts realising 3s 3d to 4s; medium, 2s 6d to 3s; small, Is 3d to 2s 3d. Wool: Several oddments have been sold by us during the week. Crossbred, at ajd ; merino, 4M; lambs, sjfd. Tallow, bones, hair, etc., are in good demand at our late quotations. Horns are worth from 6s to 10s per 100, according to weight. Oats: Market firm tt last week's quotatious. The destructive effect of recent stormy weather in the South, coupled with the drought in Australia, is certaia.to keep prices here at a high level; if, indeed, they do not go higher. Maize: Crop reports are favourable for the most part, especially as to quality.. Recent sales on wharf, 2s 8d bushel. Potatoes : Market only moderately supplied. Good table potatoes are worth £4 5e per ton on wharf, Bonedust has fair inquiry. We quote ex store at £510s. Blood and bone manure, £5. Grass-seed: Season's demand now fairly well supplied. Mr. T. Wakeun's REPORT.-At Kamo, on Wednesday, there was a full muster of cattle of all classes, over 500 head being yarded. Young stock and springing cows sold readily. All other classes were at lower prices than for some months past. Grown steers of good quality made up to £4 15s; three-year-olds up t» £3 10b; two-year-olds up to £2 15s; 250 head of calves and yearlings made from 17s to £2 53; dry cows and heifera up to £2 15a; springing cows of medium quality up to £5153; 60 head of beef from 15s to 17s per 1001b.
