SUBURBAN POULTRY FANCIERS' CLUB.

The committee of the above club bare issued their schedule for their forthcoming second gold medal championship show, to be held in the Drill-shed, in June next, in honour of the Queen's record reign. The executive, encouraged by the great success of their last show, and having a very substantial balance in hand, have added several classes of poultry, including white Flymouth Rocks, Orpingtons, and white LangShane, and have considerably increased the prize money to be given away, besides a number of gold medals and three valuable silver cups, given respectively by Mr. Charle? D. Grey (the president of the club), the Union Steamship Company, and Mr. F. Ballin; besides which there are a large number of special prizes, most liberally contributed to by leading merchants and citizen;. The total value of the whole amounts to the handsome sum of £277—the largest amount yet given away at any poultry show in this colony. Great) enthusiasm exists amongst the members of the club, who are determined to make this Diamond Jubilee Show even a greater success than any previous. Last year the total receipts amounted to between £500 and £600, and since then the membership has greatly increased, 27 names having been added to the roll during the past two months. The executive intend that nothing shall be left undone on their part to have the exhibits well judged, and they have appointed Mr. F. Dacre, of Christchurch, who is acknowledged as one of tbe best allround poultry experts in the Australasian colonies, to act at judge. Everything points to a most successful show.
