THE PROPOSED RIFLE TEAM FOR RISLEY.

[by trlkhiupii.— PKltss ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Thursday. Major Sommkuville, chairman of the New Zealand Rifle Association, is experiencing much difficulty in getting a team to shoot at Bisley, owing to want of funds outside the Government grant. Those who can go so far are Richardson, Dunedin ; King, Qaroaru ; Simpson, liaiapoi; Banks, Cliristchurch ; Straehan, Wanganu ; Hazard and Webster, Auckland. The Wellington men cannot get any assistance from the public, and it is doubtful whether they will go. MnjorSomuiervilleearnestly appeals to all tocubeoribo, so as to have the colony thoroughly represented, and, without two or three from Wellington, the Major thinks the team would be considerably weakened, Hβ here there are some of the beat shots in the colony, and he doubts the wisdom of taking a team unless they are included. The Mayor is to be urged to take some action.
