PITT-STREET WESLEYAN SUNDAY-SCHOOL.
The anniversary tea and public meeting in connection with the Pitt-street Wesleyan Sunday-school, took place last evening and proved one of the most successful gatherings of the kind in the history of the school. The tea tables were presided over by Mesdamei G. Winstone, Craig, Pascoe, W. Parkinson, A. Nicholson, Botterill, Crowe, T. Prosier, jun., W. S. Wilson, and W. J. Williams, Misses Caley, Fisher, Brown, Hhorland, Smith, Martin, Peak, Sill, Watts, Fordham, Preston, McMaster, Muldoon, Green, and Botterill. Trays were also provided by the young men and young women's classes. The Rev. H. Bull presided at the public meeting held in the Church. The annual report read by Mr. H. P. Taylor stated that the roll number was 503, with 47 teachers.' Special mention was made of the large number of senior scholars, there being 76 in the young men's and young women's classes. The amount; contributed to the Home Minion Fund was.' £44 8s lid. ' The library contained 1250 books, and additional space had been provided for 800 more. At the Industrial Exhibition-the school gained no less than 84 certificates, Mr. T. McMaster presented the balancesheet, which showed the receipts to have been £150 lis 10d, aud that there was a debit balance of £2 3s 7d. On the motion of Mr, GunsOn, seconded by Mr. Winstone, hearty votes of thanks for past services were tendered to the Revs. H. Bull.and T. W. Veftlie, who are leaving the Pitt-street circuit—the former on leave of absence and the latter for a Southern church. ' The Rev. H. Bull suitably replied. The Rev. T. R. Richards, who has been appointed to the Kingsland circuit, was introduced by Mr. Gunson and welcomed. Votes of thanks wart passed to those' who bad assisted at the anniversary service*, andto; Messrs. Forbes and J. P. Hootoo, conductor and organist. Mr. H. P. Taylor, who had given notice of his intention to resign the office of secretary, after filling it successfully for nearly six years, was accorded % hearty vote of thanks for his valuable services to the ichool. .
