FRIGHTFUL SLAUGHTER. THE GREEKS IN FULL RETREAT. RETIRING ON LARISSA. PURSUED BY THE TURKS. THE VICTORS ELATED. DEATH OF HAFIZ PASHA. A TURKISH HERO. The latest news from the theatre of war is to the effect that the Greeks were utterly routed in the engagement in Maluna Pass and are now in full retreat on Larissa, pursued by the Turks. The fighting was of a desperate character and the carnage is described as frightful. Hafiz Pasha, the veteran Turkish general, was killed. Greece has asked the Powers to withdraw their forces from Crete.
