The annual meeting of the Raglan Mutual Improvement Society eventuated on the 7th April. Mr. J. N. Fegler (president) occupied the chair. A lady ana four gentlemen were nominated for membership. By request the secretary read over the rules of the aooiety: and, after considerable discussion, notices of motion were given to rescind, alter, and amend some of these which had been found to work less effectively than had been anticipated by the original framers. The treasurer's balance-sheet was highly satisfactory, showing that, although eight or nine magazines had been taken and various other expenses incurred daring the past year, there remained a credit balance of £1 13s 2d. The librarian reported that arrangement was being made tor an exchange of magazines with the Waitemata Magazine Club. The following members were elected as officers of the society for the ensuing year .-—Mr. Henry, president; Mr. J. Rendell, vice-president; Mr. Roffey (re-elected), secretary; Mr. La Trobe (re-elected), librarian and treasurer; Miss Rendell, Messrs. £. H. Schackenberg, A.
