[FROM ODR OWS CORRESPONDENTS.] Hamilton, Tuesday. Mb. E. de C. Drdry, surveyor, has just completed the survey of a 6000 acre block at Miranda, called the Waitekarurn No. 5 A., lately purchased from the Maoris on behalf of the Government. The block is situated about 25 miles in from Wairangi, and abuts on the foreshore right opposite the Thames. The block consists chiefly of bush and swamp land. The offertories at St. Peter's Church on Sunday, which are to go towards reducing the church debt, amounted to £22 10s. A further sum of between £60 and £70 Jβ yet required, and it ia intended to make special efforts to raise the amount and clear the church of all debt. A football match was played in Sydney Square on Saturday afternoon, between the Hamilton Ease and West schools. Mr, C, Speight acted ne referee. The result of the game was a win for the East side by nine points to nil. Tries were obtained for the winners by Forbes, Kelly, and Tristram. At a meeting of those interested in football, held on Saturday evening, it was decided to form a team this season and join the union. It is expected that a strong 15 can he got together this year, and a practice match will be held on Saturday next, after which the officers, etc., will be appointed. The young man Bain, who was stabbed in the side at Te Kuiti some months ago, was discharged from the Hospital to-day quite cured. The two men charged with the offence wiil be brought up at the Police Court *t Te Awainutu, on Wednesday, the 21st insunc, A most enjoyable " tennis" dance was held in the Public Hall laefc night. The dance had been arranged chiefly in honour of the visitors from the West End Lawu Tennis Club, but unfortunately most of them were unable to stay. Those who left by the afternoon train yesterday say they had enjoyed a very pleasant trip, and hope to pay Hamilton a visit next Easter.

Tho annual picnic of the scholars of St. Marys day and Snnday schools was he id yesterday at Mr. Chitty's farm. Vehicles were provided for conveying the children and visitors to and from the ground. The Rev. Father Amandoline was present all day looking after the youngsters and was ably assisted by Mesdames Chitty, Cullaghan, McGarngl«, and others. Word was received here yesterday that the Manakau cricket team would be unable to pay their promised visit to the Waikato. A good deal of disappointment is expressed in cricketting circles, as every preparation bad been made to entertain them. _, _ PiRONGM, Tuesday, The Waipa Amateur Athletic Club held their annual sports meeting yesterday.
