EXCITING SCENE ON A RACECOURSE.
[bv tklerraph.—press association.] Timahu, Tuesday. At the Fairlie races, at the finish of the laet race, a horso ran off the course into tho crowd, knocked down several people, and fell and rolled over the rider, Fox. Tho jockey wag unconscious for some hours, and was badly bruised. Some of his ribs were broken by stono* curried »9 a " makoweight" in his pockets. Angus McMaster, a settlor, received a scalp wound, being struck by the horse's hoof. He was unconscious for some time, bub was able to go homo. Tho others were unhurt.
