CRICKET. TADHOA V. WHARBHINK. A match was played at Wharehine, between teams of the above clubs, which wae decided on the first innings. Tauhoa made 22, and Wharehine 34. INTERPROVINCIAL LAWN TENNIS. Donedis, Tuesday. Otago won the lawn tennis match against Canterbury by a majority of 23 games, the totals being :-Ot»ao, 280; Canterbury, 257.

I'UKKKOHE WEST SPORTS. The Pukekohe Athletic Ulub held their annual snorts on Easter Monday, in tha paddocks at the back of the hotel. The day was beautifully Hue, and the committee worked hard iu conjunction with their energetic secretary, to make the afternoon sports a success. About three o'clock there were on the "round about 4UO persons, about £20 being taken at the gates, and great credit is due to the committee for the mauner in which the different events were run off punctually to advertised time. The events were well contested, and some of them caused much amusement, such as the obstacle, three-legged, and other races, and a ((rand struggle for supremacy took place in the tug-of-war between two teams, one from Onewhero, the other from Maultu, six men aside. After two tugs the Onewhero team was declared the victors. Mr. J. Henry Wright carried oar. the onerous duty of judge, assisted by Mr. Pulinan, in a very satisfactory manner. This decided the handicap for the IUO, 200, and 300 yds j points counting. Wattney 1, with 13 points; Faucett 2, with 11 points; aud Tomlinson 3, with 4 points. Tug-of-War, 6 men aside. J his was won by the Onewhero team. L&dies Bracelet Haidicap Race, 250 yds. Each runner was nominated by a lady: Patterson, 14yde, 1; Faucett, scratch, 2; Lee, Byds, 3. To wind up the day's amusement a concert and dance took place in the Masonic Hall iu the evening. The_ programme was a varied one, and was carried out to the satisfaction of those present.
